Non Compliance Observed 4 children in the one and two year old room did not have medication permission slips for diaper cream. 3 children in 3 yr old classroom did not have medication permission slips for diaper cream. Numerous, Repeated, and/or Serious Non Compliance No Plan to Correct In the future, the parents will sign the medication form with the name of the diaper cream medicine and the teacher will have it in the classroom. One teacher in the classroom will be looking for medication to match the signed form. Regulation Description Parent permission. Parent permission is obtained prior to administering the medication. Non Compliance Observed One 10 month old child was sleeping on a mattress on the floor. Numerous, Repeated, and/or Serious Non Compliance Yes Plan to Correct The child was moved to a crib during the visit. In the future, the teachers will move a crib from another room in order for all infants to be sleeping in a crib. Director will check to verify all the infants are sleeping in a crib and the mattress will be removed from the classroom. Director will hold a staff meeting to discuss with the staff the requirements of safe sleep, emphasizing on sleep environments. Non Compliance Observed One 2 month old infant was swaddled with a thick blanket while sleeping in a crib. Director will make sure she trains her staff during a staff meeting on requirements of safe sleep, emphasizing on swaddling. Director will also remove all blankets except thin receiving blankets out of infant classrooms. In the future, Director will train all staff to not cover infants at all while sleeping. Director will hold a staff meeting to discuss with the staff the requirements of safe sleep, emphasizing on safe sleep environments. In the future, Director will look into ordering safety outlet covers and will train teachers to check all outlets to make sure they are covered at all times.
