On October 29th, 2024, the Out of this World Childcare Center staff will attend a supervision course with Samantha Smith. Date Due 10/29/2024. On September 23, 2024, all employees responsible for the children read and signed an active supervision statement that I prepared. We will implement what we learn about supervision because we want the best for our children. Date due by 9/23/2024. To improve supervision, we are dividing the playgrounds, with the older students on the south/big playground and the younger groups of students on the the west/small playground. We will ensure the teachers are responsible for their assigned children outside and inside. Date due by 9/23/2024. Each team member will take other supervision courses. Throughout their employment and when they start effective October 2024. Date due by 9/23/2024. I have also reached out to Grand Lake Mental Health to come and do training with us on behaviors and trauma. They will help us with redirecting children. This will help with our supervision. November 2024. Date due by 11/2024. I contacted Heather Cruz at Ivy Learning to get some resources and training. Date due by 10/2024.

Regulation Description

340:110-3-287(a) - Supervision. Supervision is the function of observing, overseeing, and guiding a child or group of children, including an awareness of, and responsibility for, the ongoing activity of each child, and being near enough to intervene when needed. The program is required to maintain supervision at all times.

To maintain order and routine, it is crucial to follow the schedules for each classroom as written. We will fulfill our schedules daily, which have been written and placed in each classroom. We will make changes according to the weather and note it. Date due by 10/1/2024.

We will keep both a written copy and Brightwheel for attendance as soon as the children arrive at and leave the childcare facility. We will no longer rely solely on Brightwheel. The opening person will fill out the written copy until she leaves, and then it will be taken over by the closing person. The written copy will be placed in a specific area in the school-age room and can be accessed at any time. The completed ones will be located in the office. Date due by 10/1/2024.

When available, I will assign two teachers to each classroom and have them responsible for specific students in that classroom. This will be written on a whiteboard with the teacher's name and the students they are supervising. When no available for more than one teacher to be in the classroom, the whiteboard system will still be used to track the assigned and present children in the classroom. Date due by 9/23/2024.
