Plan to Correct

Plan of correction for vans and van drivers: Upon return to the daycare, prior to leaving the van for the day, there will be two people inspecting the vans to make sure that they are totally clear of children. This must be done every day, every route. We will do a name to face to verify on the attendance sheet which children have gotten off the bus at drop off and which children have gotten on the bus at pick up. I will train all bus drivers on this transportation safety plan by the end of the day.

Plan to Correct

We require all drivers to ensure that all van safety procedures and protocols are followed on a daily basis. In addition to our van driver visually checking the van when transportation is completed, we have a 2nd staff member visually inspect the van to ensure that all children have properly exited the van and all van safety protocols have been followed which includes an up to date roster/checklist that documents what time children get on the van and what time the children exit the van.

Regulation Description

340:110-3-281.2(d)(6) - Child passenger check. Before leaving the vehicle and in addition to the transportation attendance, the driver or last personnel in the vehicle documents completion of at least two methods of inspecting all areas of the vehicle for any remaining children to ensure no children are left on the vehicle.

Plan to Correct

We will require all van drivers to document the time children get on the van and the time children exit the van. Timestamps will be used in place of checkmarks on our roster.
