Plan to Correct

When relieving staff in the infant room for any reason the number of children and their placement is discussed. This plan wen tinto effect after the incident happened over a year ago.

Regulation Description

340:110-3-287(a) - Supervision. Supervision is the function of observing, overseeing, and guiding a child or group of children, including an awareness of, and responsibility for, the ongoing activity of each child, and being near enough to intervene when needed. The program is required to maintain supervision at all times.

Plan to Correct

Ratios are observed at all times, for all ages. Supervision is maintained to meet DHS guidelines.

Regulation Description

340:110-3-286(a) - Ratios. Ratios are the number of teaching personnel required to be physically present with a child or group of children, per Oklahoma Administrative Code (OAC) 340 Appendix GG - Ratios and Group Sizes. Only teaching personnel count in ratios, unless requirements specifically state otherwise. The program is required to maintain ratios at all times.

Plan to Correct

Boppy pillows have been removed from the classroom. Infants are only allowed to sleep in cribs. Any infant falling asleep anywhere else in the room is immediately moved to a crib with the exception of an infant needing to remain propped up after feeding as designated by a Dr. note.

Regulation Description

340:110-3-296(b)(2)(B) - Inappropriate sleep environment. Infant safe sleep environment requirements listed in (i) through (viii) of this subparagraph are met.

Plan to Correct

Screentime is stopped and not allowed for children younger than school-age. School-age is limited to an occasional 20 minutes and with a movie on special occasions.
