Plan to Correct

Licensing received the following plan of correction: On 4/12/24, all staff took a training on appropriate and inappropriate ways to talk to children: Child abuse and neglect, How to talk to children and build positive relationships. All staff took a training on safety protocols in the classroom: Physical premises training, injury prevention. All trainings will be added to the new hire orientation so that all new hires receive the trainings.

Regulation Description

340:110-3-288(b)(9) - Consequences. Personnel use safe, natural, and logical consequences helping children take responsibility for his or her actions.

Plan to Correct

Licensing received a plan of correction during the 11/27/23 visit: Personnel received a written and final reprimand. The reprimand stated the following plan of correction: When handling situations like this in the classroom, personnel will use de-escalation methods to prevent further actions. If personnel is feeling overwhelmed, personnel will ask a co-worker or Center Manager to step in and take over. Personnel will take a training over appropriate ways to discipline and handle stress in the classroom.

340:110-3-288(c) - Inappropriate discipline. Personnel are prohibited from using or threatening to use inappropriate discipline.
