Plan to Correct

We will be reinforcing that naptime is an extension of child contact time and requires active supervision (no phone use), respectful and developmentally appropriate interactions, intentional engagement, and strict adherence to Safe Sleep protocols. Covering a child's head with a blanket or restraining a child on a cot is unsafe and strictly prohibited.

Regulation Description

340:110-3-296(e)(3) - Restraints. Restraining children on rest equipment is prohibited.

Plan to Correct

Effective immediately, staff are required to leave their cell phones in their lockers during work hours. If a staff member is observed with a phone in the classroom during child contact time, it will result in an automatic write-up. A second occurrence will result in immediate termination. We are taking a firm stance to ensure active supervision at all times.

340:110-3-287(c) - Non-job related. do not participate in personal activities that may interfere with supervision, such as visitors, phone calls, or electronic device use.

Plan to Correct

A staff meeting was conducted to go over what was appropriate and not appropriate. It was discussed that if a staff see something inappropriate for them to act immediately by telling the staff to stop this behavior and for the staff to stop this behavior and for that staff to tell the directors. Another in-depth staff meeting will be conducted this week to discuss more in detail.
