Plan to Correct

Children's New World West takes such concerns very seriously. On the very same day Ms. Hanes was made aware that an employee administered inappropriate discipline to a child, this employee was immediately terminated. Additionally, as a Plan of Correction, Ms. Hanes quickly conducted a staff meeting with all employees of the child care center to re-instruct these employees on the correct and proper way to discipline any and all children in their care. This meeting, included, but was not limited to a review of the DHS Administrative Rules, as outlined and described within the Requirements for Child Care Centers Administrative Rules: 340:110-3-288. Too, Ms. Hanes is certainly willing to share with her staff any and all supplemental materials the DHS may possess to continue to educate and constantly reminded her staff of the high importance of proper discipline of children.

340:110-3-288(c)(1)(A) - actions that could cause pain, such as shaking, hitting, striking with an object, spanking, swatting, thumping, pinching, popping, shoving, spatting, hair pulling, yanking, and slamming;

Plan to Correct

Should any future incidents present themself, Ms. Hanes and her administrative staff are well aware of their on-going next business day reporting requirements, as specifically outlined in Administrative Rule 340:110-3-280.

340:110-3-280(a)(1)(H) - a known child abuse or neglect pending investigation or disposition involving the owner, responsible entity, personnel, or an individual living in the facility;
