Corrected during the visit when a third staff arrived and was able to take the school agers to school. Director stated the reason why the program was under ratio was because a teacher called in sick and will make sure she arrives a lot earlier when staff calls in. If the director or staff knows that the program is beginning to be over ratio they will communicate to parents that they cannot take anymore children until more staff arrive. The director and staff will go over staff child ratios to make sure they are meeting them at all times.
Regulation Description
Ratios. Ratios are the number of teaching personnel required to be physically present with a child or group of children, per Oklahoma Administrative Code (OAC) 340 Appendix GG - Ratios and Group Sizes. Only teaching personnel count in ratios, unless requirements specifically state otherwise. The program is required to maintain ratios at all times.
